Vice President, Worldwide Developer Digital Engagement
In her current role as head of Developer Outreach , Gina Poole is driving IBM's focus on developers as a rapidly growing influence in IT purchasing decisions. More than ever, building and nurturing relationships with developers is critical to IBM's success. Gina leads her organization in delivering IBM's premiere worldwide developer program, IBM developerWorks, including a website, online communities, social outreach and events targeting hands-on skill building and providing developers with unparalleled access to experts, new products, and advanced technologies. Gina also leads worldwide marketing for IBM's Rational software brand delivering DevOps and Continuous Engineering capabilities to clients in all industries.
In previous roles, she was vice president of IBM Software Group Marketing 2.0, with worldwide responsibility for driving digital demand generation programs and tactics. She was also vice president, Innovation and University Relations for IBM, with worldwide responsibility for developing and executing IBM's internal and external innovation programs for collaborating with employees, clients, partners, governments and academia to foster innovation. Prior to that, Gina was Vice President of Developer Relations for IBM, where she launched and led IBM's developerWorks web community, growing it to 8 million members worldwide. Gina started her career as a programmer and tester. Gina is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds degrees in computer science, business management, and economics.
