SANTA CRUZ, CA. April 1, 2015 - Elon Musk, Bill Gates and Steve Wozniak may fear the rise of intelligent robots and enhanced AI, but 72% of software developers in an ad hoc poll from Evans Data Corp. believe that artificial intelligence is beneficial to mankind, and 35% of developers said they would consider marrying a humanoid robot.
On the other hand, 48% thought that robots would eventually take over the world, and over half (56%) thought that robots would take over most low-paying jobs, such as cashier and fast food work, within five years.
"Marrying a robot might be an ideal marital solution for an unattached developer," said Janel Garvin, CEO of Evans Data Corp. "By nature they would be logical, even tempered, and as smart as the database they have access to. It sounds perfect."
In addition, findings from this fun survey of over 200 software developers showed that two-thirds think that humanoid robots that can move, speak and look like humans will be with us within 5 years. Not too long to wait for that mate!
