SANTA CRUZ, CA, October 17, 2006 - According to the inaugural Evans Data Corp Global Developer Population and Demographics Report, the projected global developer population will exceed 17 million by 2009. Evans Data Corp is projecting a 46% growth between 2005 and 2009 in the worldwide developer population. The APAC region will overtake the EMEA region in 2007 as the home of more professional developers than any other area. By 2009 four out of every ten developers will be found in this region. That is an 81% increase from 2005 compared to just a 15% in North America for the same period.
"This set of research was designed to be complimentary to our Global Development Research Series, providing product management and marketing professionals a very discrete and granular country view of developer numbers and demographics today and into the future," states John Andrews, President of Evans Data.
